Physical education
Physical education allows students to participate in practical learning and the development of soft skills. These skills are communication, cooperation, decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution. Students also delve into traditional sport and skill learning as well as learning about cultural activities. Students can carry this through to senior level pathways where move theoretical knowledge is applied to the wider aspects of Physical Education.
Health
In health , the focus is on the well-being of the students themselves, of other people, and of society through learning in health-related and movement contexts.
Physical Education Academic
Physical Education Academic aims to develop understanding and apply strategies to improve an individual's level of skill in a range of activities; to explore the biomechanics of movement and anatomical principles, and how they influence our body to work; to examine interpersonal skills and how we apply them in order to develop leadership; and use teamwork to build a sense of confidence, pride and determination to succeed.
Sports studies
This course develops students confidence and understanding in areas such as, Sports Injuries, planning to coach and coaching, developing personal fitness plans and learning correct exercise techniques. These are learnt using Unit standards.
