Administrator (front office)

(Full-time, 40 hours per week, Permanent, school term dates only, start March 2025)

We are looking for an energetic and adaptable individual to join our school office team. The ideal candidate will have strong computer and communication skills, excellent telephone etiquette, and a good understanding of general office procedures, including the use of various office equipment.

Key Skills & Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Experience with Kamar or similar school management systems

  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities

ESOL Teacher Aide

(Temporary, school term hours only, start T1 2025)

Due to roll growth, Papatoetoe High School is seeking to appoint an inspiring and passionate teacher aide to work in our ESOL team from the start of  Term 1 2025. 

 

All applicants must be well versed in the NZC.

Gardener/Groundsperson

(Part-time, 30 hours a week, start asap)

Part-time, permanent position involves the maintenance of school gardens and assisting the team of grounds staff in general grounds duties.

 

The preferred candidate will need to be able to meet the demands of physical work, have some gardening knowledge and be prepared to learn.

Gateway Coordinator

(School term time only, Level 4, start Term 1 2025)

Ideally, you will have experience in the secondary or tertiary education sector, and have a variety of business industry exposure, and can demonstrate:

  • Positive working relationships with students, school management, businesses and other stakeholders

  • The ability to work as a team player in a school environment

  • Self-motivation, flexibility, and excellent time management skills

  • The ability to plan and prioritize tasks, and have a high attention to detail

  • High level of written and oral communication skills

  • The ability to cold-call on businesses to seek suitable work placements

  • Valid Drivers License

Hard Materials Workshop Technician Assistant

(School term time only, start Term 1 2025)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in both practical and theory lessons for hard materials (wood, metal etc) and graphics

  • Assist students with practical activities in the workshop, ensuring safety and proper use of equipment

  • Help with preparation and setup of materials and tools for classes

  • Provide guidance and support to students on projects and assignments

  • Ensure the maintenance and organization of the workshop space

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in a workshop environment, particularly with wood, metal, and graphics

  • Ability to work with students and assist in practical and theory-based learning

  • Strong communication and organizational skills

  • Previous teaching or assistant experience is preferred but not required
